Mid-Cycle Progress Reviews for Pass/Fail & Valuing Performance Programs
We are half-way through the FY21 Performance Cycle/Year, which means all employees must receive a progress review in a one-on-one discussion with their manager.
Important Mid-Cycle Due Dates:
-
Pass/Fail (P/F): Due April 30th
-
Valuing Performance (VP): Due May 15th
Pass/Fail An employee must have a launched plan in PMAS, in order for employees to be able to submit the Optional Self-Assessment and for you to conduct a Mid-Cycle Progress Review.
-
PMAS Employee Self-Assessment Process (Optional): Employees wishing to submit a Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment should follow the PMAS Job Aid: Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment noting for FY21 Self-Assessments employees can only submit an “overall” self-assessment as opposed to a self-assessment for each objective in the performance plan. This is a temporary restriction for only the remainder of FY21.
-
PMAS Mid-Cycle Review Process (Manager): To conduct the PMAS Mid-Cycle Review, the plan must be at the Mid-Cycle Review step on the route map. After the plan was launched, there are 2 primary reasons the plan would not be at the Mid-Cycle Review step:
- The plan is still in the Employee Plan Acknowledgement step. If your employee(s) are not going to acknowledge the plan, you will have to move the plan to the Mid-Cycle Review step.
- The plan is still in the Employee Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment step. If your employee(s) do not plan on submitting a Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment you will have to move the plan to the Mid-Cycle Review Step.
- Key Point for FY21 Only: Any mid-cycle narrative or assessment put in by you before the plan is at the Mid-Cycle Review step can be seen by the employee! Therefore, we recommend not putting in any narrative until the employee finishes their Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment and the plan is moved to the Mid-Cycle Review stage. We will be demonstrating this FY21 restriction during the webinars listed below.
Valuing Performance
An employee must have a published plan in VPS, in order for you to conduct a Mid-Cycle Progress Review. The employee has the option of completing a Mid-Cycle Self-Assessment that you should consider when developing the mid-cycle review.
We are conducting some Mid-Cycle Performance Management webinars during the months of March, April, and May covering the mid-cycle process for both programs (P/F & VP) and demo how you can do the mid-cycle review in PMAS and VPS. Please join us!
