California Had the Highest Number of Plug-in Electric Vehicle Registrations per 1,000 People in 2018

California had 11.96 plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) registrations per 1,000 people in 2018, followed by Hawaii, Washington, and Oregon, which each had more than five PEV registrations per 1,000 people. Sixteen states had PEV registrations greater than two per 1,000 people, while 13 states had less than one per 1,000. The average for the United States in 2018 was 3.08 PEV registrations per 1,000 people.
