NREL to hold a Collaborative Showcase for the Integrated Biorefinery Research Facility On December 14, 2011, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will host a unique showcase event for the National Bioenergy Center's Integrated Biorefinery Research Facility (IBRF) in Golden, Colorado. Attendees include advanced biofuel and bioproduct companies, technology providers, and investors who want to observe the IBRF's state-of-the-art capabilities. NREL will take attendees on a tour of the IBRF and provide them with the opportunity to interact one-on-one with subject matter experts in pretreatment; enzymatic hydrolysis; fermentation; and compositional, techno-economic, and life-cycle analyses. NREL will hold discussions on how the IBRF can be used to accelerate technology development and commercialization, as well as how people can get involved in partnerships with the Lab. For more information about the IBRF Collaborative Showcase, please contact Richard Bolin at 303-384-7716 or richard.bolin@nrel.gov. Coming Soon! Information Resources Revamp In an effort to make the Biomass Program's website more user friendly and accessible, the Program is completing a new design and layout for the Information Resources section of the site that will launch in the upcoming months. Along with new glossary terms, navigation options, and updated information, the Program created an interactive 'widget' based on the assumptions and methods of the existing Theoretical Ethanol Yield Calculator. The widget calculates the theoretical yield of ethanol from potential biomass feedstocks when you enter the dry mass percentage of a material's sugar components. You will be able to share the calculator widget on Facebook, Twitter, websites, and more. The widget and new design of the Information Resources section are just some of the many changes the Biomass Program is making to share information with the public more effectively and efficiently.
