Secretary DeVos Releases Statement on President Trump's Executive Order on Increased Support For Mental- and Behavioral-Health Needs

U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos released the following statement after President Donald Trump signed the Saving Lives Through Increased Support For Mental- and Behavioral-Health Needs Executive Order:

"I am grateful for President Trump’s leadership and for his unwavering commitment to protecting the vulnerable among us," Secretary DeVos said. "Schools have always been essential to monitoring and maintaining mental health and the Department of Education is proud to be included in the working group formed by this executive order, which couldn’t have come at a more important time. With schools closed, suicide and depression rates among students have skyrocketed and countless incidents of physical and emotional abuse are now going unreported. Students need safe in-person support groups and mentorships now more than ever."
