Shaping Rail’s Future in the Northeast

 

The Northeast Corridor (NEC) is one of the most heavily traveled rail corridors in the world, supporting a regional economy that produces $3 trillion in yearly economic output. But the NEC operates on outdated infrastructure with capacity constraints. To address this, the Federal Railroad Administration has released a draft environmental impact statement that considers three alternatives for improving passenger rail service for the NEC.
