Register Now: Implementing Evidence-based Guidelines

EMS Focus webinar hosted by NHTSA’s Office of EMS

After years of practicing medicine based largely on theory and anecdotal evidence, EMS is now entering a new phase in which treatment decisions are based on research and data more than ever. Evidence-based guidelines (EBGs) play a critical role in improving patient care and outcomes. But like any other change, implementing EBGs and incorporating them into prehospital practice is not always as simple as it might seem.

This webinar will share why local EMS systems should embrace EBGs and tips for how to implement them. The webinar will feature a panel of experts from the Federal, state and local levels. The panel will discuss how evidence-based guidelines are changing EMS and improving patient care, the challenges of educating providers on EBGs at the state and local levels, and gaining buy-in for EBGs and incorporating the guidelines into EMS practice.
