FTA’s Transit Asset Management (TAM) Program is now accepting applications for a day-and-a-half-long in-person peer exchange on how agencies incorporate TAM practices into their track systems. Peer exchange participants will learn from one another’s successes and challenges managing and maintaining track systems. The exchange will be held this spring at a host agency and will include discussions and a tour of the host’s facilities.
Eligibility and Requirements This peer exchange is limited to staff from three transit agencies and is only open to transit agencies with track systems. Track systems include vehicle control and signaling, traction power and electrification, communications, revenue collection, information technology, and tunnel support.
Peer exchange participants should be transit agency staff who are involved in activities that support maintaining/coordinating track related systems, but not limited to, capital planning, operations, and maintenance. Participants are expected to:
- share strategies for incorporating track-related systems into TAM practices and
- prepare a presentation discussing their work incorporating TAM into their track systems.
For agencies that travel to the peer exchange, their travel and accommodations will be paid for by FTA.
Host the Exchange FTA invites applicants to host this peer exchange. The host agency will have the opportunity to showcase its assets/facilities during a facility tour and will be allowed to include additional registrants. Please indicate your interest in hosting in the application.
Application To apply, submit this form, which is due by 5 p.m., Friday, January 31. Participants will be selected based on the diverse perspectives they bring from their agency, as well as thoughtful responses to the application questions. The outcomes of the peer exchange will be shared through case studies or a published summary. Please submit only one application per agency.
