FTA announces the availability of $5 million of FTA Public Transportation Innovation Program (49 U.S.C. § 5312) funding for activities that promote the deployment of successful research findings so transit agencies can benefit from FTA’s innovative research findings. The Technology Transfer Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will also enhance U.S. manufacturing and help small businesses by improving their ability to build upon prior research and commercialize innovations with broad applicability to public transportation.
One cooperative agreement will be competitively awarded. Eligible applicants include public departments and agencies, including federal laboratories; state and local governmental entities; providers of public transportation; private or non-profit organizations; institutions of higher education; and technical and community colleges.
