FTA is collaborating with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and its partner, the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) to identify current and future priorities for new standards development for areas that would benefit from the development of voluntary consensus standards, recommended practices, or guidance documents.
The purpose of this survey is to gather responses from a wide section of the public transportation industry including agency personnel across disciplines (operations, maintenance, safety, human resources, procurement, technology/systems groups, etc.) and within each transit mode (rail, bus, paratransit ferry, etc.), transit industry associations, members of the academic community and other researchers, federal and state agency employees, consultants, industry vendors/business groups, and others. The deadline to complete the survey is May 31, 2024.
FTA’s Standards Development Program works with public transportation industry organizations to develop, modify, and enhance voluntary safety standards as well as expand and reestablish partnerships with standards development organizations.
