FTA Announces $24.9 Million Grant Award for the Mill Plain Bus Rapid Transit Project in Vancouver, Washington

FTA today announced a construction grant award of $24.9 million to the Clark County Public Transportation Benefit Area (C-TRAN) for the Mill Plain Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project in Vancouver, Washington. The 9.9-mile BRT line will provide frequent, reliable, green, and safe public transportation between downtown Vancouver and Vancouver’s eastern neighborhoods.

The Mill Plain BRT project will serve several major employment areas and key activity centers including Clark College, the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the Vancouver Clinic, and the Columbia Tech Center. The Project is C-TRAN’s second VINE BRT route in the region.

The project will provide frequent and consistent transit service to reduce travel times and improve reliability and mobility for residents who do not have access to a car. The total project cost is $49.9 million with $24.9 million in funding provided through FTA’s Capital Investment Grants (CIG) Program.
