FTA Provides Relief to Transit Agencies from July 20, 2020 PTASP Compliance Deadline
The Federal Transit Administration sent this bulletin at 04/24/2020 04:55 PM EDTThis week, FTA issued a Notice of Enforcement Discretion for the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) regulation, stating that FTA will refrain from taking enforcement action if recipients and subrecipients are unable to certify that they have established a compliant Agency Safety Plan by July 20, 2020. This notice gives transit agencies until December 31, 2020 to comply with and certify the requirements in the PTASP regulation.
FTA acknowledges that operational challenges presented by COVID-19 are impacting agencies’ ability to meet the compliance and certification requirements. During this period, the PTASP Technical Assistance Center will remain available for states’ and transit agencies’ PTASP technical assistance needs.
