2020 TAM Roundtable: Save the date for next year’s TAM Roundtable on July 12, 2020 in Boston, MA. The event will coincide with the 13th National Conference on Transportation Asset Management.

APTA Public Review of Draft Documents: The APTA Standards Development Program has a number of draft documents available for public review. The current comment period ends on September 9, 2019. 

Submit your agency’s TAM Plans and best practices: FTA is continuing to accept TAM Plan submissions for a forthcoming page on the APTA site. Submit examples of agency policies, processes, tools, or other resources to the TAM Peer Library.

Upcoming Events

2019 TAM Roundtable - Bus Operators: A draft agenda is now available for the second 2019 TAM Roundtable event on September 4-5 in St. Louis, Missouri. This 1.5-day event is designed for smaller tier I and tier II agencies that do not operate rail and will focus on more fundamental issues related to TAM implementation.

Introduction to TAM (Tier I Agencies): NTI is hosting two trainings on September 17-19 in Washington, DC and December 3-5 in Chicago, Illinois. The course will cover principles and best practices for transit asset management, as well as how to comply with federal regulations.

New FTA Resources

FTA TAM Posters: FTA has produced high-impact color posters promoting TAM. Choose from among five TAM poster styles available as high-resolution downloads.

Using TAM to Support Decision-Making: A recording of the May 29, 2019 webinar is now available.

2019 TAM Multimodal Roundtable Resources: Presentations and FTA Q&A from the July 16-18, 2019 Roundtable are now available.

FTA FY19 Comprehensive Review Guide: Section 6 on Transit Asset Management has been added to the website. 

NTD Rules and Regulations: The FTA NTD page has been reformatted to make searching for regulatory documents easy and effective.

SGR Grant Program Guidance: The 2015 circular issuing guidance and application instructions for the SGR program can now be found on the website.

Communicating Your Transit Asset Management Plan: APTA guidance on communicating agency TAM plans to internal and external audiences is now available.

Economic Cost of Failing to Modernize Public Transportation: The website now features an APTA report that includes six agency SGR case studies.
