The National Transit Institute (NTI) is sponsoring five Advancing Mobility Management courses designed to help build the capacity of transit professionals to implement and scale up mobility management strategies and initiatives and expose participants to promising practices in the field:

Mobility management is a strategic approach to designing and delivering transportation services that has expanded beyond meeting the needs of individuals and groups (e.g., people with disabilities, older adults, low-income) by coordinating and improving human services transportation in collaboration with other transportation providers.

This course will benefit mobility management professionals with 1-5 years of experience in transportation or mobility related field and who play a role in implementing mobility management strategies, including: public transit agency professionals; recipients of Enhanced Mobility of Seniors & Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) grants; human services transportation providers; planning organization professionals; Veterans Administration employees; NEMT service providers and others.

FTA sponsors NTI to develop and apply innovative solutions to help meet the demands placed on the nation’s public transit systems. FTA is an active participant in the Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility (CCAM), a federal interagency council working to address inconsistent, duplicative, and often restrictive federal program rules and regulations that cause transportation services to be fragmented, underutilized, or difficult to navigate.
