The National Transit Institute (NTI), in cooperation with FTA, is presenting free courses ($300-$600 for consultants and contractors) on procurement, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, paratransit eligibility, real estate, and project management in the next several months in Seattle, WA and Salem, OR.

Seattle, WA

  • Procurement Series III (Oct. 29 - Nov. 2, 2018) – This course focuses on RFPs and contract negotiations, including competitive and non-competitive contract negotiations, moving beyond deadlock, and proposal evaluation.
  • Comprehensive ADA Paratransit Eligibility (Dec.12-13, 2018) – This course focuses on ADA paratransit criteria and eligibility requirements, including alternative eligibility determination processes with a focus on in-person interview and assessment options.
  • Procurement Series IV (Jan. 28 - Feb. 1, 2019) – This course focuses on post-award contract administration, including contracting roles and responsibilities, procurement problem areas, and best practices.

Salem, OR

  • FTA Real Estate Requirements (Feb. 6-7, 2019) – This course focuses on real estate acquisition, the Uniform Relocation Act and FTA real estate requirements such as appraisals, appraisal review, negotiation, relocation, and the development of a RAMP and Relocation Plan.
  • Project Management for Transit Professionals (Mar. 25-26, 2019) – This course focuses on building, managing, and executing a transit project through project management best practices.
