FTA to Host TAM Refresher Webinar April 25

Back by popular demand! Join FTA’s Transit Asset Management team at 2 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 25 for an encore performance of a webinar providing a detailed overview of TAM standards and recommended practices. TAM Refresher II, featuring a segment on APTA Standards subcommittee activities from SEPTA’s Laura Zale, repeats FTA’s February 22, 2018 webinar and does not include any new content.

The upcoming webinar will provide an update on the development of TAM standards and recommended practices as well as APTA’s Transit Performance Management Subcommittee activities and priorities. The session also will review the deliverables and highlight the technical assistance resources available to assist in implementation ahead of the October 2018 TAM Plan deadline.

This is not an introductory webinar, as it assumes a basic understanding of the TAM final rule (49 CFR 625) requirements. A prerequisite to participating in the webinar is to know the information presented in the Final Rule webinar from August 2016.

The TAM Refresher webinar is part of a larger effort to address important topics relating to asset management. TAM is an essential practice for providing safer, more reliable transit service while helping lower operating costs. Speakers include:

  • Laura Zale, Senior Asset Management Engineer at SEPTA and co-chair APTA Transit Performance Management Subcommittee
  • Mshadoni Smith, Ph.D., Transit Asset Management Program Manager at FTA

Registration is available on a first-come first-served basis and will be open to the first 500 participants. The webinar will be recorded and made available on FTA's TAM webpage.

If you have ideas for future topics and speakers, please email TAM@dot.gov  For archived TAM Webinars, visit the TAM Outreach Materials page.
