Apply to Serve as a Transit Cooperative Research Program Ambassador, Deadline May 1

Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Ambassadors are professionals from public transportation and related fields who have a passion for using research to improve practice.

TCRP’s Ambassadors Program intends to broaden, strengthen, and accelerate the introduction and adoption of TCRP-sponsored research results within the public transportation industry. TCRP develops innovative solutions to operating problems and adapts appropriate new technologies and approaches to help meet the demands placed on the nation’s public transit systems. The program’s research covers topics relating to all aspects of public transportation, including planning, service configuration, equipment, facilities, operations, human resources, maintenance, policy, and administration.

Ambassadors represent TCRP at industry events to promote TCRP research results over the course of the two-year program. Through networking and attending stakeholder meetings, TCRP Ambassadors share knowledge and raise awareness about innovative approaches for tackling transit’s common challenges. Over two years, ambassadors will be expected to spend as many as 10 days on TCRP business.

FTA sponsors TCRP to develop innovative solutions to meet the demands placed on the nation’s public transit systems. The Ambassador Program was developed in 1998 as a joint effort of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), TCRP and FTA.
