FTA Issues Safety Stakeholder Letter on Public Transportation Safety Program Final Rule

On Monday, August 29, 2016, Thomas Littleton, Associate Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Office of Transit Safety and Oversight, issued a public letter to safety stakeholders addressing the recently published Public Transportation Safety Program final rule (Safety Program Rule). The letter outlines FTA enforcement actions authorized by the Safety Program Rule, and reflects on the rule’s importance to FTA’s continued efforts to improve public transportation safety.
