What will this webinar cover?
The TIP and STIP are key programming documents that cover near-term investments and identify specific projects and programs for funding. In addition, State Departments of Transportation (DOT) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) play a role in project selection for programs that they administer, and these agencies may incorporate GHG considerations into project selection for these programs.
This webinar will cover information on assessing how TIPs/STIPs can impact GHG emissions and how to incorporate GHG emissions-related criteria into project selection. The webinar will feature three presentations on the topic:
- Catherine Duffy – ICF
- Katrina Kaiser – Caltrans
- Henry Mckay – Caltrans
- Tejas Kotak – Atlanta Regional Commission
Please direct any questions to David.D'Onofrio@dot.gov and Jim.Thorne@dot.gov.

Technical Assistance Available
States differ in how they integrate GHG policy and analysis into their transportation planning process. This FHWA EDC initiative will provide approaches and methods that States, MPOs and key planning stakeholders can use to both quantitatively and qualitatively address GHGs in the planning process, based on identified state of the practice examples.
As part of this initiative, FHWA is offering technical assistance to State DOTs, MPOs, transit agencies, and other transportation agencies. Stakeholders should use this form to request services.
