As part of the Every Day Counts Round 7, 40 states have committed to implementing the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Sustainable Project Delivery initiative. The program promotes the collection of EPDs on transportation projects. The Sustainable Pavements Program Team will be engaging these states in the coming weeks to identify specific activities to support implementation.
In support of the program, several EPD-7 resources are available.
Next Community of Knowledge Webinar on Establishing Benchmarks Using Industry Averages
All public agency staff such as state DOTs, cities, and federal agencies (including consultants and academics working directly with a public agency) are invited to participate in the next Community of Knowledge Webinar on Monday, September 11 at 2pm ET. The webinar will explore how transportation agencies can use industry provided greenhouse gas emissions data to identify materials that meet specific global warming potential (GWP) thresholds. Newest Member of Sustainable Pavements Program Team
We are pleased to introduce Brian Dobling as the newest member of the FHWA Sustainable Pavements Program. Brian will serve as the program’s LCA/EPD Technical Specialist. He brings over 20 years of experience with FHWA from Central Federal Lands and the Colorado Division Office. Brian was very instrumental in the deployment of the FHWA LCAPave Tool and has supported the implementation of EPD Programs at the State DOT level.
