Native American Employment Rights Program

OFCCP joins our Department of Labor colleagues in celebrating National Native American Heritage Month.  At OFCCP, we recognize American Indians and Alaska Natives face numerous challenges with employment.  For this reason, we invite you to learn about our Indian and Native American Employment Rights Program (INAERP).  INAERP’s mission is to advance awareness of employment rights and job opportunities for American Indians and Alaska Natives who work for or seek employment with companies doing business with the federal government.  INAERP works with supply and service contractors and construction contractors.

INAERP is able to help these federal contractors by:

  • Emphasizing the need for contractors working on or near Indian reservations to focus their outreach efforts on tribal community organizations such as the Tribal Employment Rights Organizations (TERO).
  • Providing compliance assistance on the laws enforced by OFCCP.
  • Assisting with establishing linkages with tribal community organizations.
  • Explaining the benefits of applying 41 CFR 60-1.5(a)(7), “Work on or Near Indian Reservations” preference in employment to Native Americans.

OFCCP encourages federal contractors and subcontractors to contact INAERP for assistance at 1-844-206-1836 or emailing INAERP at OFCCP-INAERP@dol.gov.
