Academic Opportunity Updates
Applications are still open for CEO’s Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) Fellowship. The fellowship allows individuals from academia, nonprofit organizations, and state, local and tribal governments to work with CEO to support departmental agencies with relevant and rigorous evidence-building activities. If you are interested in better understanding state apprenticeship programs, or learning about promising strategies for youth apprenticeship models, CEO has published a number of new reports with helpful findings for practitioners under our Apprenticeship Evidence-Building Portfolio project.

Are you interested in children's work, education and rights? Read short, plain language summaries of 73 new studies related to child labor found in CLEAR's latest evidence review. Of these, over half of the studies on conditional cash transfer programs found reductions in child labor and some increases in school participation. The review highlights gaps in evidence on how contexts affect children’s outcomes, and which groups of children benefit most from these interventions.
Savi Swick is the new Director of Research for Employment and Training Programs at CEO, where she is responsible for overseeing CEO’s employment and training evaluation research portfolio.
Savi recognizes that every individual who accesses employment and training programs has a unique set of needs and barriers to overcome, and she is thrilled to be joining CEO where she can support the development and use of evidence to improve the delivery of those important programs.
