$80M available in Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs grants
To maximize the impact of the Biden-Harris administration’s historic investments in infrastructure, manufacturing and clean energy, the department is making $80 million available in funding. As part of the administration’s Investing in America Tour to highlight the president’s economic policies, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden discussed how grants like these support career-connected learning and workforce training programs that prepare students for jobs. "Through the Biden education pathway, we can fundamentally transform what it means to make a living and make a life here in America," she said.

Ohio company enters Severe Violator Enforcement Program after 3 injuries in 5 months
For the third time in five months, OSHA investigated reports of unsafe machinery at an Ohio hardwood flooring mill. Two of those inspections involved worker injuries, the latest when a worker’s fingertip was partially amputated because it was caught in an unguarded belt and pulley. OSHA cited the company for six repeated and 12 serious safety violations and placed it in the Severe Violator Enforcement Program.

OSHA has published 2022 injury and illness data based on reports by more than 300,000 establishments. The Injury Tracking Application data is part of OSHA’s electronic recordkeeping requirements for certain employers.
