OWCP's Employees' Compensation Operations & Management Portal (ECOMP) is a secure online website that provides Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP) claimants and Authorized Representatives access to review status updates and compensation payment information.
EEOICP employee claimants have been granted additional features in ECOMP that allow them to view and download case file documents. However, a limited number of records are not available to view in ECOMP, due to the possibility that those records may include errors, including some personally identifiable information (PII) of employees other than the employee who may have worked at the same facility. The Category and Subject of the records not accessible via ECOMP include:
- Category: Other Documents, Subject: NIOSH Documents (records received from the National Institute Of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH))
- Category: Employment, Subject: DAR/SERT (records received from the Department of Energy (DOE) using the Secure Electronic Records Transmittal (SERT) system)
- Category: Employment, Subject: DOE Records (any records received from the DOE, other than those received through the Document Acquisition Records request (DAR))
- Category: BFC Batch, Subject: BFC Batch (documents imaged as part of the Back File Conversion (BFC) process where paper files were converted to electronic files)
If you want copies of these documents, you can submit a request, through the Privacy Act, with your District Office Claims Examiner. This process allows Claim Staff to review and correct inaccuracies (including redacting non-claimant PII within documents) before it is sent to you for your records. Please include those specific categories and subjects you wish to receive in the Privacy Act Request.
