Additional WIOA Youth Program Resources Now Available!

Hello Youth Practitioners and Policy Makers,

We wanted to let you all know that the Division of Youth Services has released some additional technical assistance resources! If you haven’t already seen them, check them out below:

Request for Proposals

Building Quality Request for Proposals (RFPs) for WIOA Youth Program Services Brief provides key elements for building a quality Request for Proposal to support comprehensive services to youth in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth program.

As part of this RFP technical assistance, DOL shared WIOA State and Local Youth Program RFP Examples representing different approaches for acquiring providers of WIOA Youth program services and include general WIOA Youth program requests. These samples also focus on specific strategies or populations, such as career pathways, entrepreneurship, foster care, youth one-stop model, post-secondary education, pre-apprenticeship, and summer.

Monitoring

Monitoring for Fulfilling the Vision of WIOA Youth Program (Webcast) is a brief overview of the WIOA Youth Supplement Core Monitoring Guide, a program specific guide for on-site monitoring of WIOA formula-funded youth program.

Individual Service Strategy

Conversation about Youth Individual Service Strategies webinar recording provides an overview of the Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA) Individual Service Strategy (ISS) sample template and how to use it.  During the webinar ETA staff also discussed how to best use the ISS process to build relationships with Youth.

Webcast on the Youth Individual Service Strategy (ISS) template shares the components of the sample ISS template created by the Employment and Training Administration. The template was developed based on 39 ISS submissions from across the country and compiles key elements, common themes and best practices from the various submissions.
