MEMORANDUM
DATE: Tuesday, October 6, 2020 TO: FPPS User Group Representatives FROM: Tom Larson, Chief, Personnel and Payroll Systems Division SUBJECT:OPM Change to Position Sensitivity Code 0 (Not Designated)
|
|
This memorandum is to advise Servicing Personnel Offices (SPO) Position Sensitivity Code 0 (Not Designated) was inactivated on September 1, 2018 by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The Interior Business Center was not advised of this change until recently. SPO staff should discontinue using Position Sensitivity Code 0 (zero) when processing current and future transactions. The Position Sensitivity Code table in FPPS will be updated during Release 20.03 (December 11, 2020) to the following:
New OPM Position Sensitivity Table (see resources below)
Agencies should run queries to identify employees needing this change. If your agency needs any assistance in identifying employees, please contact Kathee Green at the information provided below. These codes need to be corrected by your staff prior to December 11, 2020 if possible. If Position Sensitivity Codes are not corrected by this date, any subsequent transactions will encounter the following NEW edit applicable with Release 20.03:
900.003: Position Sensitivity and Risk must be a valid code as reported in the GPDS.
SPO Instructions: Position Sensitivity Code is an SF50 data element and requires SF50 corrections (NOAC 002). SPO staff should use Effective Date 9/01/18 and ripple through all NOACs and Maintenance transactions. Position Sensitivity may be changed in commands SNIN (Initiate Request for Personnel Action) or PNCG (the Position SF50/52 Information Screen) using NOAC 903 (Change Position Sensitivity).
FPPS will not be able to assist in updating the Position Sensitivity Code through a MASS process due to the fact that this data element is on the SF50 and will most likely require ripple corrections be done up to current actions in the system.
Please ensure this memorandum is distributed to applicable SPO staff.
