The Southwest CASC Natural Resources Workforce Development Fellowship provides graduate students with training and practice in developing use-inspired and actionable science to inform natural resource management decisions. The science theme for the 2026-2027 cohort is “cloud seeding.” The Fellowship is open to graduate students enrolled in research-based thesis or dissertation-granting programs at the seven Southwest CASC consortium institutions. Southeast CASC Seminar: Long-Term Engagement to Develop Strategies to Inform Climate Adaptation Decisions in Puerto Rico
Since 2014, the Southeast CASC has supported efforts to provide actionable information to conserve and recover endangered and at-risk amphibians in Puerto Rico. This work lays the foundation to help decision makers select when and where to implement two adaptation strategies: managed translocations and identifying climate-resilient habitats to help recover and prevent further species endangerment.

National CASC Webinar: Adaptive Management & RAD
The RAD (Resist-Accept-Direct) framework helps managers navigate transforming ecosystems by defining a broad decision space that includes not only resisting ecological trajectories, but also consciously accepting such change and/or directing trajectories towards preferred new conditions. This webinar will feature a panel of experts who will discuss how combining RAD with Adaptive Management can support conservation and natural resource management. The webinar will focus on real-world examples of operationalizing RAD Adaptive Management and future opportunities for implementation.

Participants will learn about climate impacts, resources for planning and adaptation, and vulnerability assessments for regional species of conservation concern in the Northeast region.
