PA acknowledged the briefing and that it was removed from the curriculum for review. PA anticipates further negative coverage later this week.

What procedural changes or retraining has taken place for Air Force pilots? In regards to the T-38C crash in Houston, Texas, did anyone lose their job? PA expects further media coverage.
b. “RUCK MARCH TO REMEMBER” MEDIA ENGAGEMENT: Reporter Howard Ballou, WLBT-TV 3 (NBC-Jackson, Miss.) along with four other television stations, three radio stations and five newspapers covered the 14th Security Forces Squadron members from Columbus AFB, Miss., through their four day journey July 24-28 during the “Ruck March to Remember” from Gardner, La., to Brookhaven, Miss. 58SOW/CC SPEAKS TO YOUTH AVIATION CAMPERS: Col. James L. Cardoso, 58th Special Operations Wing commander, was a guest speaker at the Tuskegee Airmen Institute Youth Aviation Camp, Friday (July 29) at Kirtland AFB, N.M. The Youth Aviation Camp in partnership with the New Mexico State Office of African American Affairs was held at Kirtland July 25-29, for youth aged 13-17. While there, the attendees toured the 58th SOW and learned about the wing's operations, maintenance and training activities. Positive civic outreach.

a. BUILD-A-BOAT RACES: Wichita Falls photographers Bethany Rumble, KAUZ-TV 6 (CBS) and Harry Tonemah, Times Record News, interviewed Denise Tilley, community center director, Saturday (July 30) about the 11th annual Sheppard AFB Build-a-Boat races. A record 67 teams from the base made boats from cardboard and duct tape and piloted them across the base swimming pool for prizes. Positive media coverage received.
b. AIR FORCE RECRUITS TOUR SHEPPARD AFB: Twenty-two new Air Force recruits from the Dallas, Texas area toured Sheppard AFB, Friday (July 29). Places visited included a crew chief class, propulsion class, aerospace physiology and the tower. Positive military outreach.

a. DV PLANNING COVERAGE: Reporter Jeff Mullin, Enid News and Eagle, interviewed Vance AFB's wing historian, Tom Tyson, and protocol chief, Sheryl Lawrence. His story showcased the new historian and preparation for distinguished visitors to the base. Positive coverage in Sunday’s (July 31) issue.
b. VANCE T-6’S AT MALMSTROM AND TRAVIS AFB AIRSHOWS: 71st Flying Training Wing T-6A Texan IIs from Vance AFB attended air shows at Malmstrom AFB, Mont., and Travis AFB, Calif., as static displays. The aircraft departed July 28 and returned August 1. Positive civic outreach.
c. VANCE T-1 ATTENDS AIR MOBILITY RODEO 2011: A Vance T-1 participated in the 2011 Air Mobility Rodeo. The T-1 departed July 22 and returned July 31. Positive civic outreach.
