Summer Concert Series Finale in August

Though accomplishing the mission of The United States Air Force Band takes the dedication of a squadron full of world-class musicians, few people recognize that it also takes a team administrative professionals - both enlisted and civilian - to keep the Band mission-ready around the clock. One of those professionals is Ms. Chyane Mojica, who has been working with the Band since May 2009. As the Superintendant of Scheduling Administration, her role in keeping the Band operational on a day-to-day basis is a vital one. Although Mojica arrived at The USAF Band by pure coincidence, she has become an integral part of the Hangar 2 family. Read more... |

The final month of the 2011 Summer Concert Series has something for everyone! You can still catch one of the Band's performing units at the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday evenings, local high schools on Wednesday evenings and the Air Force Memorial on Friday evenings. Concerts at all locations begin at 8:00 p.m., and are free and open to the public.

The Ceremonial Brass Play for Mets/Yankees Game

The United States Air Force Ceremonial Brass played the National Anthem for the New York Mets vs. New York Yankees baseball game at Citi Field in Flushing, N.Y., July 2. The game was broadcasted on the FOX MLB Game of the Week. In addition to the National Anthem, the Ceremonial Brass also played a selection of patriotic marches and the Armed Services Medley as part of a pre-game show.
The Ceremonial Brass ended their weekend in New York City by playing on the Today Show on July 4. The Brass was able to make it back to Washington, D.C. that evening to participate in performances at the U.S. Capitol and the Air Force Memorial.
