Master of ceremonies, singer tryouts, Aug. 9

La Bella Vista Club cancellation, brunch changes

The La Bella Vista Club’s daily lunch will be cancelled July 30 – 31 and Aug. 8. Beginning in August, Sunday brunch will be held every second Sunday of the month. Specialty brunches, such as Mother’s/Father’s Day and Easter, will still be held on the nearest Sunday. For more information, call 632-4303.

 

German-themed dinner, July 31

The La Bella Vista Club will host a German-themed dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. The event costs $5 for members, $9 for non-members, $3 for children of members, $6 for children of non-members and free for children 5 and younger. For more information, call 632-4303.

 

AFA membership meeting, July 31

World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1–7

The Aviano Breastfeeding Support Group and 31st Medical Group have organized several community events during World Breastfeeding Week, beginning with a kickoff event and cake cutting Aug. 1 at noon at the MDG atrium. Dragon classic softball tournament, Aug. 911

Pre-deployment briefing, Aug. 10, 14, 21, 28

Choir workshop, Aug. 12–16

A transition assistance program workshop takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The program provides opportunities and aid to help Airmen separating from active duty. For more information, call 632-5407.

Duathlon, Aug. 18

The Dragon Fitness Center will host their annual Aviano Duathlon consisting of a 12-mile bike ride and a three-mile run. Cost is $15 and participants can register at the fitness center front desk. For more information, call 632-7459.

The 31st Fighter Wing Honor Guard is accepting company grade officer applications through Aug. 15. Half of base theater movie tickets are available for advance purchase every Monday at the entrance to the food court from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the movie theater box office on the day of the movie.

 

Child care summer day passes

Limited summer hours for Aviano schools

The Aviano Elementary and Middle/High School is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for parents who need to pick up student records or enrollment packets. The school transportation office is open from 8 a.m. to noon on weekdays for student bus passes. Children’s karate, jujitsu classes

The Falcon Fitness Center hosts children's karate classes Mondays and Wednesdays and jujitsu classes Tuesdays and Thursdays; ages 4 and 5 meet at 2 p.m. and ages 6-12 meet at 3 p.m. at the Falcon Fitness Center. University of Phoenix no longer offering courses at Aviano

Effective Aug. 1, University of Phoenix will no longer offer face-to-face courses at Aviano due to a contract change. Members attending University of Phoenix on site may contact the school representative at 632-5139 prior to July 31, to determine the options regarding their educational plan. After July 31, members must contact the main campus for more information.

The 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron has extended the base shuttle hours to accommodate Airmen staying in Area 2 to eat at the La Dolce Vita Dining Facility on Area F. Times of shuttle stops are posted at designated pick-up locations.

 

USAFE’s Summer Strike Program

The Aviano Lanes Bowling Center hosts $1 games every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Aug. 11. Each bowler will be entered into a drawing for a prize that will be selected at the end of the program. For more information, call 632-7487.
