U.S. Army Pfc. Jazeron Knowles keeps watch while children play near him during an afternoon reconnaissance patrol in the vicinity of Forward Operating Base Fenty in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, Sept. 29, 2013. Knowles is a rifleman assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division's 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team.
