U.S. soldiers provide medical care to a simulated casualties during a mass casualty exercise on Forward Operating Base Salerno, Afghanistan, Aug. 6, 2013.The exercise is designed to test the medical systems and protocols of a unit's ability to quickly and efficiently locate, triage and treat casualties.
