A U.S. Marine executes pre-convoy inspections before conducting Operation Northern Lion on Camp Leatherneck in Helmand province, Afghanistan, June 24, 2013. The Marine is assigned to Georgian Liaison Team-9. Northern Lion was a Georgian-led operation to deter insurgents, establish a security presence and gather human intelligence.
