Flag Officer Announcements

            Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the President has made the following nominations: 

            Navy Adm. Cecil E. D. Haney, for reappointment to the rank of admiral and for assignment as commander, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.  Haney is currently serving as commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. 

            Navy Vice Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., for appointment to the rank of admiral and for assignment as commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Harris is currently serving as assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. 

            Navy Rear Adm. James F. Caldwell Jr., for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as inspector general, Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C.  Caldwell is currently serving as commander, submarine force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. 

            Navy Rear Adm. William F. Moran for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for manpower, personnel, training, and education, N1, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and Chief of Naval Personnel, Arlington, Va.  Moran is currently serving as director, Air Warfare Division, N98, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
