Migration Stats
-
Only one (1) State Community of Interest (COIs) remains on Legacy for cutover to HSIN R3
-
53% of all HSIN Legacy COIs have migrated to HSIN R3
-
98% of the most complex (requiring the most time to migrate) HSIN Legacy sites have been migrated to HSIN Release 3 (R3)
This week, the HSIN PMO is pleased to announce the following large-scale DHS migrations:
v Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Emergency Management (EM)
HSIN is pleased to welcome FEMA and the EM community to HSIN Release 3 (R3). These entities represent a wide-ranging user base and have been evaluated as highly-complex migrations, with large numbers of users and high content volume. FEMA and EM include numerous Communities of Interest (COI), including multiple sites and administrators. Their successful migration is crucial to supporting the upcoming hurricane season.
v Law Enforcement (LE)
This migration included a complex site with advanced architecture. LE is already taking full advantage. HSIN is most grateful to LE’s leadership for their partnership and patience during the migration process.
v Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)
Operational for more than one (1) year on HSIN Legacy, CVE supports a critical mission, particularly in the post-Boston environment. Its cutover to R3 ensures CVE COI will continue to provide comprehensive education and training to users from across the entire homeland security enterprise on how to identify, investigate and prevent violent extremism.
v Overall Training Numbers Continue to Increase!
We are pleased to announce the following numbers for HSIN R3 Training through May 29, 2013. Thanks to everyone for their participation and commitment to continued learning:
- # of users completed Nomination/Validation (NomVal) Training: 113
- # of users completed End User Training: 1,116
- # of users completed Site Admin Training: 92
- # of users completed End User (CBT): 33
- # of users completed MIV Training: 55
v HSIN Hosts Important New Cyber Security Effort
The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Network Resilience (FNR) Division from the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) is using HSIN R3 as a communication and collaboration tool for their Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program. The CDM Program will assist Federal Departments and Agencies in meeting their continuous monitoring and FISMA reporting requirements. The CDM Community of Interest, named the CDM Portal, leverages the HSIN R3 environment to generate awareness of the CDM Program and for information sharing with government agencies. One of its features are Toolkits, explaining the CDM Program, detailing the many benefits of the program, and explaining how government agencies can participate. For more information about the CDM Program or the CDM Portal, please contact cdm.fnr@ha.dhs.gov.
