Flood and Tornado Assistance Information

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is working in Michigan to help residents who experienced severe storms, flooding, and tornados between August 24-26, 2023. The federal disaster was declared February 8, 2024. Learn more at fema.gov/disaster/4757.

Individuals and households in these designated counties are eligible to apply for financial and direct services: Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Kent, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, and Wayne.

SBA

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)

FEMA strongly encourages applying for low-interest disaster loans from the SBA. These loans offer critical financial assistance that can aid recovery, rebuilding, and mitigation efforts.

If offered, loan terms are not required to be accepted. If denied, FEMA may grant additional assistance. Learn more.

Anywhere it rains, it can flood. Federally backed flood insurance is available to anyone in an NFIP-participating community regardless of flood zone.
