Create Messaging That Sticks and Helps Inspire Action

icon

Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 12 PM - 1 PM ET

Please join the Region II National Preparedness Division for a webinar to go over the science behind some of the challenges in communicating risk information effectively. Also learn about techniques based on behavioral research to make your messaging stick and help inspire action.

Convincing people to plan for and protect themselves from devastating events is not an easy task. Our biggest challenge is dealing with threats with low probability and high impact which can result in skepticism or indifference to dealing with associated risks. Raising awareness by simply providing information is not enough. We need to deliver messages to ensure a deep understanding of the issues and make them compelling enough for people to act.

Who Should Attend? This is open to the whole community, but would be most beneficial for communications, outreach, engagement and other similar staff.
