FEMA Region 2 and the Individual and Community Preparedness Division will hold a financial preparedness webinar on Thursday, Dec. 13.
In preparing for the future, it is important to have financial resources to fall back on while simultaneously building wealth. This webinar will discuss typical road blocks to saving, how to deal with them, techniques for being a better saver, reducing debt, and the importance of investing.
The webinar will be from noon until 1 p.m. EST Thursday. Participants must register for the webinar.

The risk of having a home fire increases during the winter months.
To help you spread the message about winter fire hazards and ways to prevent them, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) are teaming up to promote “Put a Freeze on Winter Fires."
The annual campaign draws attention to the risks of home fires and ways to keep you and your loved ones safe during the winter months.

The FY 2018 Fire Prevention & Safety grant application period will close in two weeks, on Friday, Dec. 21. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. EST.
The purpose of the grant is to enhance the safety of both the public and firefighters by decreasing fire hazards and assisting with fire-prevention programs.
Fire departments and non-profit organizations can complete their application online. The application assistance tools are also available.
