USCIS Reissuing Secure Receipt Notices for Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services sent this bulletin at 03/16/2021 01:57 PM EDTOn January 6, 2021, USCIS began issuing revised receipt notices for Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. The new receipt notices, when presented with an expired Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card (PRC or Green Card), serve as evidence of lawful permanent resident status and may be used to prove identity, employment authorization, and authorization to return to the United States after temporary foreign travel. USCIS identified an error in printing, resulting in notices being issued on standard paper rather than secure paper. USCIS has issued new notices on secure paper to applicants who filed Form I-90 due to an expired or soon-to-expire Green Card before March 3, 2021, and have not yet been scheduled for biometrics. All new notices were mailed by March 9, 2021. Please allow additional time for delivery. Lawful permanent residents should not attempt to travel using a receipt notice printed on standard paper.
