SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR FLAG OFFICER MENTORS - CY27 OFFICER CANDIDATE
SCHOOL (OCS) CLASS MENTOR PROGRAM
1. This ALCOAST solicits applications to be a mentor for the CY27
Officer Candidate School (OCS) Class Mentor Program.
    a. OCS mentors meet in-person with the Officer Candidates (OC)
at three points during the twelve-week training period: first during
week one (1), again at week seven (7) during billet night, and
finally for the graduation ceremony during week twelve (12).
Additional visits can be accommodated and are encouraged if the
mentor's schedule allows. These can be either in-person or
virtual.
2. The OCS Class Mentor Program is beneficial in the development
of Coast Guard OC's as future commissioned officers.
    a. Estimated CY27 sequence of mentorship dates, select one:
        (1) OCS Class 2-27: Initial Mentorship Visit on 15 JAN 27;
Billet Night on 25 FEB 27; and, Graduation on 01 APR 27.
        (2) OCS Class 3-27: Initial Mentorship Visit on 23 APR 27;
Billet Night on 03 JUN 27; and, Graduation on 08 JUL 27.
        (3) ROCI Class 1-27: Initial Mentorship Visit on 23 JUL 27;
and, Graduation on August 19, 2027.
        (4) OCS Class 1-28: Initial Mentorship Visit on 03 SEP 27;
Billet Night on 14 OCT 27; and Graduation on 18 NOV 27.
3. OC Mentor Eligibility Requirements, and Logistics.
    a. Mentors applicants must be O-7 or above.
    b. Participation by the Flag mentor's Command Senior Enlisted
Leader, if assigned, is highly encouraged.
    c. Separate funding is not provided and is considered a unit
expense.
    d. Given historical interest and the limited number of available
OCS classes, not all applicants can be selected.
4. Executive Assistants or flag aides may submit requests for their
principals with their desired convenings via e-mail to the POC
listed in paragraph six (6) by 01 OCT 26.
5. All applicants will be notified of their selection status
via e-mail NLT 15 OCT 26.
