SUBJ: AY26 RESERVE CHIEF PETTY OFFICER ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR OFF-SEASON
SOLICITATION
A. Reserve Policy Manual, COMDTINST M1001.28 (series)
1. The following critical-fill Reserve assignment opportunity exists at Chief
Petty Officer Academy, TRACEN Petaluma, CA:

2. Chief Petty Officer Academy instructor positions provide a unique opportunity
to strengthen the Chiefs' Mess by helping other Chief Petty Officers further
develop their leadership skills as they relate to systems and strategic thinking,
ethics, communications, as well as health and well-being. This assignment will
help bolster leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities to a wide array of
Chief Petty Officers, Master Sergeants, and international students.
3. Interested applicants must submit an e-resume with positive command
endorsement through Direct Access.
a. Applicants who are not tour complete must obtain a command endorsement that
addresses early departure, backfill requirements, and acceptability of a
potential gap. Applicants in receipt of AY26 orders, or those in paygrades
E8 & E9, are not eligible.
b. The assignment is a standard tour length as described in REF A.
c. Applicants must be a graduate from the CPOARSV or DoD Senior Enlisted Course.
4. Process/timeline:
a. NLT 28 June 2026: Submit PCS E-resume in Direct Access with command
endorsement.
b. OOA 01 July 2026: LDC interviews applicants.
c. OOA 10 July 2026: RPM-2 makes assignments.
d. The expected report date is OOA 01 AUG 2026.
