SUBJ: 2026 SILVER ANCIENT TRIDENT SELECTION ANNOUCNEMENT
A. Ancient Trident Award, COMDTINST 1650.17
1. The Ancient Trident Designation was established in 2016 to honor
those with the longest time in the Marine Safety Program. This
designation not only recognizes Marine Safety longevity, but also
extols the officer and enlisted Marine Safety Professional whose
personal character and performance standards honor the most
venerable practitioners of marine safety and reflect our
Core Values.
2. I am pleased to announce the selection of Master Chief
Mark Henricksen as the Third Silver Ancient Trident who will
assume the watch this June.
3. A change of watch ceremony will be held at a later time and
location.
4. I wish the retiring Silver Ancient Trident, MSTCM Ann Logan,
fair winds and following seas with her retirement this summer and
good luck on future endeavors.
5. I congratulate Master Chief Henricksen on his designation.
With well over 20 years of service in the Marine Safety community,
I am certain he will ably represent the rich traditions of the
community and the thousands and Coast Guard men and women who daily
safeguard our marine transportation system and tirelessly ensure the
economic prosperity of the United States.
