1. COMDT (CG-7) is honored to announce the recipient of the
2025 Aviation Physician Assistant of the Year Award in accordance
with REF (A). Sponsored by the Coast Guard Aviation Association,
this award recognizes a Physician Assistant who has demonstrated
outstanding commitment and service to aeromedical medicine and
operational support of Coast Guard Aviation.
2. The Aviation Physician Assistant of the Year Award is presented
to Lieutenant Drury Corley. LT Corley demonstrated exceptional
initiative, professionalism, and resourcefulness in delivering
continuous medical care during the establishment of Air Station
Ventura, the first new Coast Guard Air Station in 26 years. Working
collaboratively with the Coast Guard Health, Safety and Work-Life
Service Center and the Naval Base Ventura County Medical Command,
she streamlined the onboarding process for incoming personnel,
developed comprehensive joint-service healthcare protocols, and
fostered partnerships with local healthcare facilities, laying a
strong foundation for future initiatives.
3. As the sole onsite Coast Guard medical provider, LT Corley
identified critical infrastructure limitations and resource
deficiencies, leading to the redesign of medical spaces and
procurement of essential equipment. She promptly secured funding,
executed over 50 purchase requests, coordinated clinic code
acquisition totaling over $880,000, and completed the outfitting
and to ensure full functionality of the clinic, including patient
exam rooms and the medicine storage system.
4. I extend my personal congratulations to the award winner.
Through your actions, you have demonstrated the highest levels of
courage and professionalism. Your efforts uphold the finest
traditions of our service.
