SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2025 USCG DEPLOYABLE
SPECIALIZED FORCES AWARDS
A. Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF) Awards, COMDTINST 1650.30A
1. This ALCOAST solicits nominations for the 2025 Deployable
Specialized Forces Awards. This award program provides recognition
for noteworthy accomplishments by Coast Guard Deployable Specialized
Forces personnel.
2. There are eight total DSF Awards:
a. CDR Joe Rodriguez Award, DSF Tactical Operator of the Year
(Officer),
b. DC3 Nathan B. Bruckenthal Award, DSF Tactical Operator of the
Year (Enlisted),
c. DSF Emergency Response Award (Officer/Civilian),
d. DSF Emergency Response Award (Enlisted),
e. DSF Emergency Response Award (Reserve),
f. DSF Expeditionary Maritime Security Award (PSU),
g. DSF Domestic Maritime Security Award (MSST),
h. DSF Award for Outstanding Mission Support (Active, Reserve, or
Civilian)
3. Eligibility requirements are included in REF (A). The period for
the awards is the calendar year ending 31 December 2025. Commands
may nominate as many individuals as desired in each category.
Nominations for these awards do not preclude nominees from receiving
other awards.
4. Submit nominations in memo format, not to exceed a total of two
pages, to the cognizant operational commander (Area Force Manager or
NSF Commander). Submissions must be in PDF format with all required
signatures and endorsements. Electronic signature is preferred.
Hard copies of nominations will not be accepted. Area endorsed
nominations shall be submitted to the COMDT (CG-721) Awards
Coordinator by email at Erin.M.Bennett@uscg.mil. All nominations
must be received by 30 April 2026. COMDT (CG-721) will convene an
awards panel and winners will be announced via ALCOAST.
