SUBJ: USCGA 2026 SUMMER TRAINING SOLICITATION
1. This ALCOAST kicks off initial planning efforts for the 2026
USCGA cadet summer training period assignment process. The 2026
summer training period commences on 09MAY26 and concludes on
24JUL26. Maximizing participation of all available units is critical
in shaping the future officers graduating from CGA, both through
leadership and operational experiences.
2. Cutters, Sectors, Air Stations, Cyber and DSF units are requested
to respond with availability for 1/c Cadets. 1/c Cadets are expected
to be put in the role of a Junior Officer to fully experience what
it means to be a leader in our service. Unit responses are separate
from agreed upon academic internships which may occur concurrently
for CGA cadets.
3. Cutters and Stations are requested to respond with availability
for 3/c cadets. 3/c Cadets are expected to be put in the role of
a Junior Enlisted Member to fully understand the critical
contributions that our enlisted members make each and every day.
4. All units are asked to complete the survey located in the link
in paragraph 5 below, even if unable to support cadets during the
summer training period. The survey will remain open until 22JAN26.
If space becomes available after 22JAN26 please email updates to the
POC listed in paragraph 6.
