YEAR 2026 KICK-OFF
1. The recent lapse in appropriations and organizational adjustments
aligned to Force Design 2028 (FD28) requires a shift to the
previously announced Assignment Year 2026 timelines. Members should
anticipate an approximately two-month delay from the schedules
outlined in REFs (B) and (C).
2. PSC and its Divisions (OPM, EPM, RPM) will release updated
milestone dates once finalized. These updates will be communicated
broadly to ensure clarity and predictability for the workforce.
3. AY26 will be highly dynamic, driven by service needs related to
FD28 reorganization and the increased operational tempo related to
the Nation's 250th Birthday and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. To meet
mission demands, Assignment Officers may need to place some members
into billets not listed on their e-resumes, based on demonstrated
specialty, performance, and skillsets.

and Teams pages for the most current information, including emerging
timelines, guidance, and outreach opportunities.
