2. Today we celebrate 250 years of the United States Marine
Corps' unwavering service and sacrifice that has guaranteed
our freedom through war, crisis, and calm. From the earliest
days of our republic, the Marine Corps has been a core
element of the American story, answering the call to duty
with unwavering courage and dedication. Theirs is a history
defined by action, etched in victory, and a continuing
source of inspiration for all who serve.
3. For a quarter of a millennium, Marines have stood the
watch, their legacy forged in valor and victory on
battlefields across the globe. Inspired by the ethos that
"Every Marine is a Rifleman" and grounded in the bedrock
values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, the Marine
Corps demonstrates the highest standards and ironclad
discipline that define their service.
