SUBJ: FY26 SOLICITATION FOR OFFICER LEADERSHIP COURSES
1. The Leadership Development Branch (FC-LDR) and the Leadership
Development Center (LDC) are announcing the leadership training
opportunities for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026. In response to an outsized
FY25 demand signal for officer and civilian leadership courses,
FC-LDR and the LDC have rebalanced the course frequency reflecting
an increase in the total number of training sessions across
Coast Guard leadership courses. In an ongoing effort to maintain the
integrity of each course and to focus on developing our Coast Guard
Professionals at each career milestone, FC-LDR and LDC are strictly
prioritizing the enrollment of the target audiences and ask that
all prospective students enroll in the session that convenes closest
to their Permanent Duty Station (PDS) (or projected PDS), with an
alternate choice being at one of the LDC sessions. Prospective
students at the appropriate paygrade and assigned to a PDS within
50 miles of the convening location will be prioritized. If a
member's PDS is not within 50 miles of a convening location, that
member is encouraged to request attendance at the nearest convening
possible. Course information, convening locations and dates,
training objectives, prerequisites, application procedures and
deadlines are located on the FC-LDR website:

2. The following Coast Guard Officer and Civilian Leadership
Continuum courses are available for FY26:
     a. Midgrade Officer and Civilian Transition Course (MOCTC)
(100139)- MOCTC is a 1-week residency course that covers leadership
fundamentals, teambuilding, and Emotional Intelligence, Conflict
Management, and Coaching. The target audience is Active Duty and
Reserve O-3s and GS-12s. MOCTC has 4-6 hours of pre-arrival
requirements.
     b. Senior Leader Transition Course (SLTC) (100437)- SLTC is a
2-week residency course with a 4-week pre-arrival period; it reviews
topics covered in MOCTC and adds 5 strategic thinking elements.
The target audience for SLTC is Active Duty and Reserve O-4s
(and O-4 selects) and GS-13 civilians. Members outside the target
audience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. For O-3s who
have already taken MOCTC, FC-LDR & LDC ask that only the O-3s who
are O-4 selects submit an ETR for SLTC. SLTC's pre-residency portion
consists of approximately 4-6 hours per week. The residency portion
includes nightly homework. NOTE: The last 2 weeks (residency) will
be the only dates listed in DA.
     c. Senior Leadership Principles and Skills (SLPS) (501316)- SLPS
is a 1-week residency course that covers all topics from MOCTC and
SLTC but at an elevated level. The target audience is GS-14s and
O-5s, but members outside the target audience may be considered on
a case-by-case basis. It is recommended that participants have
attended MOCTC and SLTC. SLPS has 4-6 hours of pre-arrival

preparatory course.
