SUBJ: ENTERPRISE DEPLOYMENT OF THE MIGRANT TRACKING TOOL
1. This ALCOAST directs use of the Migrant Tracking Tool as the
authoritative database to track maritime migrant encounters, cases,
chain of custody, and other relevant information for all maritime
migrants and suspected aliens encountered during Coast Guard
Migrant Interdiction Operations (MIO).
2. In response to increasing demand for accurate, timely, and
complete maritime migration data, the Migrant Tracking Tool
development scope was increased to fit the needs of the MIO
mission across the many nuances of Coast guard migrant operations.
These developments focused on streamlining data entry, while also
providing a robust user experience for units. The developments
have led to the successful integration with Surveyor, and efforts
continue to complete connections to DHS data systems to deliver
information at speed to all levels of senior leadership.
3. Beginning 15 AUG 2025, all units that encounter maritime migrants
or illegal aliens are required to utilize the tool to capture case
data, including, but not limited to, interdictions, deterrences/
disruptions, apprehensions, and landings in their AOR.
4. COMDT (CG-MLE) is the sponsoring program office for this
initiative and will work with the development team to satisfy
unit training requests (in-person or virtual) as needed. Training
is being provided to units across the Heartland and Southwest
Districts to ensure immediate usability. Virtual training options
for additional AORs are highly recommended for units not previously
trained; units that desire training should contact COMDT (CG-MLE)
POC below to schedule. Additional online training materials,
instructional videos, and supporting documents are available
