SUBJ: ORIENTATION FOR PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATORS
1. Coast Guard members designated to serve as their unit's
Partnership in Education (PIE) Program Coordinator are invited to an
orientation regarding their roles and responsibilities.
2. The mission of the CG PIE Program is to enhance the well-being,
academic achievements, and career opportunities of students through
partnerships across the country between Coast Guard units,
schools, and other community-based youth focused organizations.
3. Through PIE Program partnerships, active-duty CG members, as well
as CG reservists, auxiliarists, civilians, and retired employees
can volunteer to engage students in a wide range of educational
activities, including mentoring and tutoring; supporting instruction
in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math; hosting field
trips to CG units; and more. In addition to supporting students,
the PIE Program gives members of the CG family the opportunity to
further serve as positive role models and mentors in their
communities.
4. The PIE Coordinator Orientation will be held August 12, 2025 at
1400 (EST).
