SUBJ: SELECTION OF THE 15TH MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF
THE COAST GUARD (MCPOCG)
1. We are pleased to announce the selection of Command Master
Chief (CMC) Phillip N. Waldron as the 15th Master Chief Petty
Officer of the Coast Guard (MCPOCG). CMC Waldron will relieve
MCPOCG Heath B. Jones during a Change of Watch Ceremony on
July 25, 2025, at the C5I Service Center in Alexandria,
Virginia.
2. Enlisting in August 1999, CMC Waldron's distinguished
career includes diverse afloat and ashore assignments. He
served as an Engineer Petty Officer aboard USCGC BUCKTHORN
in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and with Patrol Forces
Southwest Asia aboard USCGCs ADAK and WRANGELL. Ashore, he
served as Assistant Engineer Officer at Sector Mobile,
Alabama, and Station Belle Isle, Michigan, and trained
future Coast Guardsmen as a Recruit Company Commander at
Training Center Cape May. He further honed his leadership
skills by serving as a Command Master Chief at Base Kodiak,
Seventeenth Coast Guard District, and Personnel Service
Center. CMC Waldron is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief
Petty Officer Class 201, the Senior Enlisted Leadership
Course, and is a Keystone Fellow. His extensive experience
and proven senior leadership have prepared him to assume the
highest senior enlisted leadership position in the Coast Guard.

prestigious position. We commend all applicants and thank
them for their exemplary performance and continued service.
